with myself: making impulse purchases that felt small in the moment but slowly pushed bigger goals further away. Whether it was a vacation, paying off debt, or saving for something meaningful, I realized that budgeting apps tell you where your money went—but they rarely step in before you spend it.
That’s what I wanted Maica to do.
Instead of only tracking finances, Maica acts like a personal financial coach. It helps you visualize the goals you’re working toward, analyzes your spending habits, and is designed to eventually notify you when a purchase could put those goals at risk. The objective isn’t guilt—it’s giving you enough context to make a decision you’ll still feel good about tomorrow.
Building this MVP taught me that accountability is just as important as budgeting. My focus now is learning from real users and understanding what actually changes spending behavior.
I’d genuinely love your feedback. What feels useful? What doesn’t? If there’s one feature that would make an app like this indispensable for you, I’d love to hear it.
