Cryo is a search engine for the web before the AI-content flood, helping you discover authentic, human-written knowledge from a frozen pre-2022 corpus, ranked for relevance and authenticity.
A 2021 cutoff is clever but the AI flood really started ramping up in late 2022 and exploded in 2023, so a lot of low-quality content slipped in just before your freeze date. Have you considered letting users flag or exclude results from specific domains like content farms or SEO blogs, even within the pre-2022 corpus? It would help surface more genuine voices like forum posts, personal blogs, and academic writing over the keyword-stuffed stuff.
@fahrettinacrg9 Thank you for the feedback and that’s a great point. The cutoff is a useful guardrail, not a guarantee of quality content farms and keyword-stuffed pages existed well before generative AI.
Domain-level exclusion and stronger source controls are exactly the kind of feedback we’re looking for. I want Cryo to give users more control over what "authentic" means for their research, whether that’s prioritizing forums, personal blogs, academic sources, or excluding low-quality domains altogether.
Tried searching for some old programming tutorials and actually found real forum posts instead of the usual AI-rewritten sludge. The pre-2022 cutoff feels weirdly refreshing, like searching the internet used to.

@ayfersayhan Thank you, that means a lot. I wanted the cutoff and authenticity signal to be visible because they’re central to how Cryo works, not hidden implementation details. Still early, so feedback on how those filters should evolve is especially valuable.
