GPT-5.6 Sol in Codex gave our team the engineering leverage to turn SISMOS from a working prototype into a production-ready vision system. Sol reasoned across the sismos-rpi-remote-ops codebase—not just isolated snippets—and coordinated Python, Bash, PowerShell, .NET, Raspberry Pi, Hailo, networking, security and PLC/Modbus integration. It helped us build an offline-first edge runtime, multi-camera inspection, a secure local HTTPS portal, hardware-bound identity, TPM/LUKS protection, signed releases, anti-downgrade checks, smoke tests and automatic rollback. It also diagnosed real deployment failures involving VPN routing, mDNS, credentials, Hailo and updates, then turned each fix into regression tests and reusable runbooks. We now have more than 2,000 offline tests and a repeatable path from a blank microSD to a remotely maintainable node operating in a customer factory.
