I recently came across a scam message, where the image was sent over WhatsApp but the person had to tap the download button to download the image, and that was it, the image was having a malicious file which then hacked the users phone, scammers are always one step ahead on finding how to scam and steal money and data from users!
Love how it covers QR codes and phone numbers too, not just links. That broader scope shows the team actually thought through where people actually get hit, not just the obvious stuff.
