Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built this because I kept running into the same problem - I needed transcripts from Loom recordings, webinars, and random site videos, but every tool I found either required uploading files or only worked on YouTube.
So I built Transcribe Video to Text - a Chrome extension that captures audio directly in the browser tab and converts it to text. No uploads, no extra apps, works on literally any website.
What makes it different:
- Works on any site, not just YouTube
- YouTube transcription is free with no limits
- Powered by AI -50+ languages, handles accents, fast
- No account required - just install and click
Would love your feedback , especially on which platforms you'd want it to support next.

Picked it up for a quick test on a Loom recording and the transcript was ready in seconds without me leaving the page. The fact that it just runs in the browser beats the usual upload-and-wait tools I've tried.

@muzdil61976 So glad it worked for you! The browser-based approach was exactly what I was going for - no uploading, no waiting, just get the transcript where you already are. Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see improved

@kbracennetnefb Thank you Kübra! That's exactly why I built it - no downloads, no uploads, just instant text. Great to hear it stayed accurate on a long video too. If you ever try it on other sites besides YouTube, would love to hear how it goes!
