Hey Product Hunt! I'm the maker of RightIdea.
The problem I kept hitting: Every time I had an app idea, I'd spend hours scrolling through App Store reviews, Reddit threads, and Google Trends — trying to figure out if the idea was actually worth building. Most of the time, I'd either talk myself into a bad idea or give up on a good one because the research was exhausting.
What RightIdea does: You type in an idea (like "budget app" or "why is Mint bad"), and the system pulls real 1-2 star reviews from App Store and Google Play, Reddit discussions, and Google search volume. Then Claude AI analyzes all that data and gives you:
An Opportunity Score out of 100
Top 5 pain points with verbatim user quotes
3 concrete app opportunities with MVP specs you can actually build in 2-4 weeks
A "Best Pick" with a kill test and regret test
Everything is backed by real data — real review counts, real search volumes, real Reddit upvotes. No vague "there might be an opportunity here."
How it's different from ChatGPT/Claude chat: Those give you opinions. RightIdea gives you evidence. Every pain point comes with a source citation, every market signal has an actual number.
Pricing: 1 free analysis on signup. Credit packs start at $19 for 3 analyses. No subscription — use them whenever you have an idea.
Would love your feedback — especially from fellow indie hackers who've struggled with idea validation!
The Reddit pull was surprisingly useful, picked up complaints I'd never have found on my own. Wish the opportunity score breakdown showed which sources contributed what.
@nazlcanzay5vlt Thanks for the kind words! Reddit is honestly one of the most underrated sources for unfiltered user pain points — people complain there in ways they never would in a survey 😄
Great suggestion on the opportunity score breakdown. We've actually been thinking about adding source-level attribution so you can see exactly how much weight came from Reddit vs other channels. It's on our near-term roadmap now — your feedback just bumped it up the priority list.
Stay tuned, and feel free to reach out if you have more ideas!
How does the pay-as-you-go credit pack work exactly, like how many analyses does one credit get you and do unused credits roll over?
@necdet615225 Great question! Here's how it works:
1 credit = 1 full analysis. Each analysis covers everything — App Store & Google Play review mining, Reddit discussion scraping, search volume data, opportunity scoring, pain point ranking, and actionable app suggestions. Nothing is gated behind tiers; every credit gives you the complete report.
Three packs to choose from:
3 credits — $19 ($6.33/each)
10 credits — $39 ($3.90/each)
30 credits — $99 ($3.30/each, best value)
Credits never expire — no "use it or lose it" pressure. Buy them when you need them, use them at your own pace. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
We went with this model because idea validation is inherently bursty — you might analyze 5 ideas in a weekend, then nothing for a month. Didn't want anyone paying for a subscription they're not using.
Hey everyone, maker here! A bit of backstory on why I built this.
I've launched multiple apps over the past year. Every time, the hardest part wasn't coding — it was picking the right idea. I tried everything:
Asking AI directly — "What app should I build?" The suggestions sounded great... until I realized half of them were completely made up. Markets that didn't exist, pain points nobody actually had.
Manual research — Scrolling through hundreds of app reviews, digging through Reddit threads, checking search volumes. Hours of work for a single idea, and I still wasn't sure if I was seeing the full picture.
Going with gut feeling — "This feels like a good idea." Spoiler: it usually wasn't.
The result? Multiple projects where I invested weeks (sometimes months) of time, energy, and money — only to find out the direction was wrong from the start. And when the direction is wrong, nothing downstream can save it.
Then it hit me — this is exactly the kind of problem machines were built to solve. Computers were invented to process complex data that humans can't handle efficiently. Thousands of app reviews across platforms, scattered Reddit discussions, search trend patterns — no human can synthesize all of that without missing something. But a machine can, in minutes.
That's why I built RightIdea. It does what I used to do manually — pull real complaints from app stores, Reddit, and search data — but in minutes instead of hours, with actual data instead of AI hallucinations. Not AI making up ideas for you, but AI processing real-world evidence so YOU can make a better decision.
The idea is the single most important decision in any project. Get it wrong and everything after is wasted effort. I built this so that decision is backed by evidence, not guesswork.
Would love for you to try it and tell me what's missing. First analysis is free — no card needed.
