OffShrimp watches your posture through your camera and gently reminds you when you’ve been slouching. AI runs locally in your browser, so camera footage never leaves your device. Free, no sign-up, no installation.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I spend a lot of time at a laptop / PC, and I usually notice my posture only when my neck or back starts complaining.
I wanted a posture tool that felt almost invisible: no account, no installation, no wearable, and no camera footage sent to a server. So I built OffShrimp.
It works directly in the browser:
- Sit straight and calibrate your good posture.
- Keep working as usual.
- If you stay slouched for more than 20 seconds, OffShrimp gives you a gentle sound reminder.
The AI runs locally on your device, so your camera feed stays private and is free to use.
I’d really appreciate honest feedback on the detection accuracy, reminder timing, and whether this is something you’d keep open during a real workday.
Thanks for trying it!

how well does it handle different lighting or if i'm sitting in a darker room does the AI still pick up my posture accurately?
@saatcisine76691 its great question. My laptop built-in camera doesn’t work very well in a dark room so yes AI can sometimes lose track of me. But I opened OffShrimp on my smartphone, and its front camera works much better in low light. 🙂 So I put my phone near me on phone holder, and it works! Take a look at my screenshot.

How well does it handle different lighting or if I have a busy background, does it get confused or do I need a clean wall behind me?
@beratokqf you don’t need a clean wall behind you. A busy background is usually fine, since the model focuses on your body position. Good lighting matters, if your shoulders and upper body are visible, it should work well.

Tried it for a quick test and the slouch alert kicked in way sooner than I expected, which was honestly a little humbling. Glad nothing leaves the browser though, that part sold me.
@n_yalc32635 Thanks you for trying it and for feedback! I want the reminders to be gentle and not too annoying but still useful enough to make a real difference. I’m sure I’ll find the right balance 🙂⚖️ All local yes, it must for me too
