PanelMage is a production pipeline for visual storytellers — specifically built for the workflow of creating consistent, stylized comic art for YouTube thumbnails, chapter intros, and narrative sequences.
At its core it's a structured AI art director, not a blank prompt box. You build a cast of characters — each one has a written appearance description, an optional reference photo (which gets analyzed by a vision model and translated into a generation-ready portrait), and a reference image that can be injected directly into the generation model to keep that character's face consistent across panels. Characters persist across your entire project; you're not re-describing them every time.
When you generate a panel, you're working in layers of creative intent: you choose an art style (with presets ranging from ink wash to painterly fantasy to noir), an environment and atmosphere, and then write or AI-enhance a scene description. The model knows your characters, your style, and your setting — and produces a panel that fits inside a coherent visual world rather than a one-off image.
Panels are organized into projects and scenes — labeled by panel number and scene name — so you're building something sequential: a chapter, a story arc, a video series. You can generate backgrounds separately and pin one as the persistent setting for a whole run of panels.
Under the hood you have real control: switch between Flux Schnell (fast, 1 credit) and Flux Dev (higher fidelity, 2 credits), tune inference steps and CFG guidance, set custom image dimensions, and save any combination of those settings as a named workflow preset you can swap between instantly.
The result is less "AI image generator" and more a consistent comic art production system — one where a solo creator can produce a full cast of recurring characters, build panel-by-panel scenes, and ship a cohesive visual style across dozens of pieces without starting from scratch each time.
