MotorTrendly is the modern digital hub for car enthusiasts. Manage your vehicles in a virtual garage, solve mechanical issues with community-validated Q&A, join clean discussions, and discover local automotive events. Ditch messy social media groups.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I’m thrilled to introduce MotorTrendly to the community today.
As a full-stack developer and a massive gearhead, I was incredibly frustrated with the state of automotive communities online. Traditional forums are stuck in the early 2000s, and Facebook groups are a chaotic, unorganized mess where valuable mechanical advice disappears down the feed after an hour.
I wanted a clean, modern, and structured place for car enthusiasts to document their builds and solve real problems. So, I spent my free time building MotorTrendly (using Angular, .NET 8, and PostgreSQL) with a premium dark aesthetic.
The platform is built around 4 core pillars:
🏎️ Garage: Your digital showroom. Add your vehicles, track performance modifications, and share detailed spec sheets instead of just dropping a photo.
🛠️ Problem Resolution: The core engine of the app—think StackOverflow for cars. Describe your symptoms, find community-validated fixes, or open a thread to get step-by-step repair guidance without losing the history.
💬 Discussions: A deeply organized space for everything else. Talk about market trends, share tutorials, and ask for advice in clean, threaded conversations.
🗺️ Events: An interactive map to discover, organize, and join local car meets, track days, and driving routes.
This is a passion project built by a solo dev, and the preview is currently live. I would absolutely love your raw feedback:
Does the "Problem Resolution" flow make sense to you?
How does the dark UI/UX feel?
What features would you need to make this your go-to automotive hub?
I’ll be here all day to answer your questions and talk tech or cars. Thank you so much for checking it out! 🏁
