I'm Riley, and I built Speak Saigon to solve my own problem: my wife's family is Southern Vietnamese, and almost everything out there teaches Northern Vietnamese. The Southern dialect has different tones, pronunciation, and a lot of different everyday words, so the "standard" courses only got me so far with her family. So I built it Southern-first from the ground up: real Southern audio, an AI partner that actually replies in the Southern dialect, and games to make the tones stick.
