Hey Product Hunt! I built Fud AI because food logging gets annoying the moment real meals are involved: oil, sauces, partial portions, restaurant bowls, nutrition labels, and repeat meals. Fud AI lets you log in the way that fits the moment: snap a photo, add a note, scan a label, speak, type, use saved meals, or enter manually. It is open source and local-first. There is no Fud AI account, no ads, and no cloud food log. You can bring your own AI key, and iOS also has optional Fud AI Plus for people who do not want to manage keys. Why I built Fud AI

built this because every calorie tracker either makes you search through a database that's missing half the foods you eat, or uses ai to "guess" calories from a photo which honestly isn't that accurate.

fud ai reads nutrition labels directly. that's the difference. when you scan a label, you're getting the real numbers, not an estimate. it also does photo and text analysis for home-cooked meals and restaurant food, so you're covered either way.
