BallonsTranslator Pro is an open-source workspace for comic/manga translation teams. It combines OCR, translation workflow, page/textbox review, and QA tools, photoshop like features, up to date models, glossary/context usage for models, extreme customization in one UI so you can move from raw pages to polished output faster. Built for scanlation and localization workflows where speed matters, but consistency matters more.

Hey PH! 👋
We built BallonsTranslator Pro for people translating comics/manga at scale.
Most tools stop at OCR/translation — our focus is the blatant bottleneck after the inconsistent, and hardcoded features other projects ramble on about: extreme customization and actual useful features seen with no other. I am lazy myself, and so I decided to try and make the least human intervention in the scanlation workflow with the most consistent QUALITY I could muster.
Best features to try first:
Multi-LLM Translation Workflow (spell check => translate -> review -> polish.)
// From experience, the use cases of this is for fast but accurate translation, some models perform better in certain areas, and sometimes its consistently easier to use multiple small models than large ones.
Text Box Layout Agent (the selected model is given commands it may use, and is given a screenshot each time it makes a change, this is for text box positioning within a page, and or bubble.)
Auto-Glossary Extraction (we use a small embedded model to extract useful terminology, if put into context, this is used for consistent terms through fast workflows without human engagement)
Photoshop-like text editing and formatting (along with brush and coloring features)
The rest is up to you to explore.
We’d love feedback on:
Where a feature fails or slows
Which shortcuts/actions should be default
What export formats your team needs next
Thanks for checking it out 🙏
But hey, why use it?
I use it too, often, so expect exactly what you've always wanted in an LLM assisted translation workflow.
