We have completely normalized apps demanding an internet connection just to process our own thoughts. Right now, almost every AI voice app is a thin wrapper that beams your audio to a cloud server the second you speak.
I wanted something faster, more private, and deeply intentional. So I built Notie.
Notie is a 100% offline, privacy-first voice note app for iOS.
Here is what makes it completely different:
🎙️ Zero Cloud: It uses Apple's native on-device silicon to transcribe and refine your notes. Your data physically never leaves your phone.
⚡ No Loading Spinners: Because it runs entirely locally, there is zero network lag. The UI transitions from catching your voice to processing the text in one continuous, fluid motion.
✈️ Airplane Mode Ready: You can record a 10-minute brain dump at 30,000 feet, and it works perfectly.
I spent an unreasonable amount of time obsessing over the micro-interactions so that the software feels like a calm, physical tool rather than just a cluttered utility app. Getting local AI to run flawlessly without melting the battery was a massive engineering challenge, but the privacy and speed make it absolutely worth it.
