Built this in about 10 days because the joke made me laugh and I wanted to see if I could ship a public LLM endpoint that wouldn't bankrupt me if it went viral. The voice was the hard part. About 10 hours of prompt iteration to land the bored-encyclopedia tone while remaining committed to the bit, no hedging, no breaking character. Early versions were too zany or kept leaking the system prompt. The final version answers "where is Atlantis" with bureaucratic specificity about a 1923 city council resolution and never blinks. Cost surprise during the build: same prompt across models varied 100x in price for comparable output quality. Model selection mattered more than prompt engineering after a certain point.
