Tired of blank-mind standups and painful perf review seasons?
DevLog is a VS Code/Cursor extension that reads your git commits and generates:
→ Meaningful standup summaries (not raw commit messages)
→ STAR-format performance reviews for any period
→ LinkedIn posts, team updates, and blog drafts
Free tier. Your own Groq or Gemini key. All data stays local.
No CLI. No terminal. Just the Command Palette.

Hey folks! 👋 I'm Madhankumar, a Lead Frontend Engineer and indie maker from Chennai.
I built DevLog because I kept having the same two painful moments:
1. Every morning standup — blank mind, checking Slack and git trying to remember what I did yesterday
2. Every perf review season — 6 months of work to summarize and I could barely remember what I shipped in the last sprint
The frustrating part? All the evidence was sitting in git the whole time. Every commit, every branch, every fix. Just not in a usable form.
So I built DevLog to fix that. It reads your git log (filtered to your email only — teammates' commits never appear), and turns it into actual readable output using Groq or Gemini on free tier.
A few things I'm genuinely curious about from this community:
→ Is BYOK (bring your own API key) the right model, or would you rather pay a small subscription and skip the key setup entirely?
→ Which would you want next: multi-repo standup, Slack integration, or built-in time tracking (like WakaTime but native)?
Happy to answer anything — brutal feedback welcome. This is exactly the kind of audience I built it for. 🙏
