Honestly, I built Snipd out of pure frustration.
You find a great photo on IG/Tiktok, take it to your barber/stylist, and the end result looks absolutely nothing like what you asked for. It's usually not even their fault, the person in the reference photo just has a completely different face shape, hairline, and hair texture than I do. What looks amazing on them looks terrible on me.
I tried looking for apps to preview cuts before going in, but everything out there was awful. The AR apps just pasted stiff, cartoonish digital wigs onto my head. The newer AI apps weren't much better where they would completely change my face, alter my pose, and make me look like a weird, glossy CGI avatar. You can’t exactly show that to a barber and say, 'Give me this.'
I wanted something that actually kept my face, my expression, and my lighting, but just realistically changed the hair.
That’s how Snipd was born. It uses AI to rebuild the haircut from scratch directly onto your photo, keeping you looking like you. It accounts for your actual hair texture and face shape, and you can see how it maps onto your head.
