I love reading fantasy, but I kept running into an issue. I'd get to book 13 of a 36-book series (with each book being 4,000+ pages in length) and some character would show back up from 10 books ago and the author would be talking about them like I should know who they are. Now, at this point, I COULD google the character name & the series title, but then I'd end up on their wiki page that would tell me absolutely everything about them, including very prominent dates and locations of deaths.
