Hey everyone!! SLAP came from a pretty simple (and slightly painful) observation - people are terrible at reading their own conversations because they are clouded by emotions. We saw friends stuck in loops: overanalyzing texts, justifying obvious red flags, or holding onto “potential” that wasn’t really there. And when they asked others, the answers were either too polite or biased. So we onboarded psychologists, and built SLAP, a Relationship Intelligence tool to do what most people won’t - tell the truth, clearly and without cushioning it. It breaks down real chats into interest levels, power dynamics, mixed signals, and what’s actually going on beneath the surface - plus what you can do next. We also added a Hall of Shame (you’ll know why) and a game to help people get better at decoding Gen Z lingo and signals. What’s the most confusing text you’ve ever received? Test it on slap!

We built The Slap sitting 17+ hours a day, staring at the same screen until everything blurred. Some days started with clarity and ended with “what am I even doing?”
There were moments it felt pointless. Like we were just another product in a sea of noise. Days where nothing worked, nights filled with bugs, rewrites, and constant second-guessing.

You start questioning yourself more than the product.

But then you remember why you started. Those situations where people are stuck, overthinking, giving chances they shouldn’t.
The Slap came from that place.
