Hey Product Hunt community! š Iām Igor, the maker of GoLiveKit.
I built this starter with these ideas in mind:
1. š¤ AI Readiness - Every part of the application is covered with AI context (`skills`). This allows AI agents to optimize tokens and helps you build apps much faster using tools like Claude, Copilot, or Cursor.
2. š³ Easy Self-Hosting on a VPS - Deploy using a GitHub Actions pipeline to any VPS (Digital Ocean, Hetzner, EC2, etc.).
3. šø Cost Optimization - Avoid vendor lock-in where possible and situations where you see unexpected bills. Typically all you need is a domain name ($10/year) and a 1GB VPS ($6/month). We do make a few exceptions and use file storage on AWS S3 or Cloudflare R2 to simplify things, but they offer a generous free tier.
It has a built-in setup for:
- AI Skills - a comprehensive list of built-in SKILL.md files for each part of the app
- Payments via Stripe - 3 strategies: one-time payment, monthly/yearly subscription with discount, and credits (for API usage)
- Storage - Cloudflare R2, AWS S3, or any S3-compatible storage. You can even self-host with MinIO.
- Admin - an admin panel where you can manage users, scheduled blog posts, authors, tags, and legal pages. No need to redeploy for content changes.
- Dashboard - a place where users can use your app, manage billing, and update settings
- Deployment - prepared Dockerfile, docker-compose, deploy.yml for GitHub Actions, and a Terraform script for provisioning (set up or remove a VPS in minutes)
- Emails - easily send transactional emails using pre-built providers: Resend, Useplunk, or Nodemailer
- Analytics - Google Analytics integration
- APIs - oRPC implementation to easily build type-safe logic. Built-in support for Swagger, RPC, and server actions.
- SEO Ready - pre-configured meta tags, descriptions, and auto-generated OpenGraph images
- Notifications - Telegram group alerts for app events
- UI Components - built on top of shadcn/ui - Filters, DataTable, FormBuilder with Plate.js rich text editor
- Other: pnpm / Biome / TypeScript / Zod - for a better developer experience and type safety
