Hi everyone, I'm Chef, the maker of DESIGNmd.
I built this because I kept hitting the same problem when coding with AI. It generates functional code, but the UI always looks generic. Every project ends up with the same Tailwind defaults. As a designer this just bothered me.
Google recently released DESIGN.md as part of their Stitch announcement. It's a markdown format that describes a design system. You put it in your project root and your AI coding tool reads it to build consistent UI. It works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Antigravity, and anything else that reads project files.
The format is great and very promising, but there was nowhere to discover and share these files. So I built DESIGNmd. It's a library where you can browse 100+ design systems, preview them visually, and download with one click. You can also upload your own if you want to share.
There's also an MCP server and a CLI if you want to search and pull design systems directly from your editor without visiting the site.
The whole thing was built with Claude Code over a weekend. Happy to answer any questions about the product, the tech stack, or the DESIGN.md format itself.
