I built Kacy Brain because I was tired of every smart home assistant requiring a cloud subscription and sending audio to remote servers. Here's what runs locally on a Raspberry Pi 4/5: 🎙️ Wake word detection (openWakeWord) 📝 Speech-to-text (faster-whisper) 🔊 Text-to-speech (Piper) 🧠 AI reasoning (Claude Haiku or Groq Llama 3.3 70B) Only the final text query goes to an AI API. No audio recording, no user profiles, no training on your data. It connects natively to Home Assistant and can control lights, covers, climate, presence detection — through natural conversation.
