MBTI for Music

SonicVibe turns your Apple Music library into a shareable “music personality” collage. Connect once and get a 4-character Sonic Hex, archetypes, and a trait radar based on what you actually listen to—then arrange them as stickers on a clean canvas for screenshots, side-by-side comparisons, and “why are we friends?” debates. Two modes: Real-Time taste + 1k library snapshot. No quizzes, no feed—just your taste, visualized. Transformer-backed, not a personality quiz.

What do you think? …

I’m always fascinated by how social media feeds just get you — and under all that “magic” is a pretty gnarly recommender system powered by embeddings. So I built one… but for music. I think the way we listen is a kind of self-expression — like a safe space to make a statement without saying anything. It also taps into the unconscious. Mask off. You’re just you. And the 4-digit Sonic Hex isn’t some dumb average of the songs you play — it’s meant to capture the vibe of your inner self. What’s really interesting to me is what happens when people start comparing Hex codes: who matches, who clashes, and what you can actually do with that info. If you are curious: the Hex comes from a PCA over learned user embeddings, and the embeddings are learned with a BERT-like model. I’ll probably write a technical blog later. Try it with friends and tell me what you think. 👀
