I'm excited to share Onigiri with you today.
Why I built this:
I was trying to understand Japanese songs and found myself constantly looking up words. Existing apps like Anki are great, but they focus on isolated word-to-definition pairs. I wanted something that teaches vocabulary through rich context.
What makes it different:
- Every word is learned through multiple example sentences
- AI generates contextual images and audio
- Spaced repetition algorithm recommends sentences based on what you know
- Streaming mode - just press play and passively learn
Current status:
- 20,000+ example sentences
- Supports Japanese, English for Korean, Japanese and English learners.
