I'm a researcher and LEGO builder enthusiast who's been working on Subtitle Sphere for close to 2 years. Let me share how this all started.
The origin story:
I was watching a foreign TV show and halfway through, I couldn't find subtitled versions for the second season. I tried paid services, but transcribing, translating, and subtitling all those episodes would've cost me a fortune in subscriptions. Plus, I'd have to upload my videos online and create multiple accounts.
So I built my own solution—and it grew from there.
How it evolved:
What started as 10 core features has grown into 50+ features, shaped entirely by feedback from supportive users. For the first 12 months, I offered it completely free because I wanted it to be accessible. But as the project grew, that wasn't sustainable. Now it's a one-time payment of $50 CAD—enough to cover costs and support, without locking anyone into subscriptions.
