What inspired you to build this? Last year, I applied to 47 jobs. I spent 3+ hours tailoring each resume—that's 141 hours, almost 4 full work weeks. I got 3 interviews. The worst part? I later learned that 75% of resumes never reach human eyes. They're filtered by ATS (Applicant Tracking System) software before a recruiter even sees them. All that time. Wasted. What problem were you trying to solve? Job seekers face two brutal realities: 1. Tailoring resumes takes 2-3 hours per application 2. Generic resumes get rejected by ATS systems before humans see them Most people either: - Spend hours tailoring (and burn out) - Send generic resumes (and get filtered) Neither works well. How did you approach or process evolve while working on this launch? I started by building a simple keyword matcher. But I quickly realized that wasn't enough— ATS systems need semantic understanding, not just keyword stuffing. The breakthrough came when I focused on the user experience: - Upload once, not every time - Zero prompting required - Automatic semantic matching (not just keywords) - Real ATS optimization, not just formatting Early users showed me that speed wasn't enough—they needed confidence. So I added ATS scoring, showing exactly how their resume would perform before they apply. The biggest evolution? Moving from "resume builder" to "application assistant." Users don't want to build resumes—they want to apply to jobs. Hireflow now creates tailored resumes as part of the application process, not as a separate task. We're still learning. Every user teaches us something new about how people actually search for jobs. But the core mission remains: give job seekers their time back while maximizing their chances of landing interviews.
