I created Rise Wise because I was sick of waking up and immediately doom-scrolling. I noticed it wasn’t just ruining my mornings—it was affecting my entire day.
So I built Rise Wise to help break that habit.
It works by locking your favorite apps in the morning. To regain access to apps like Instagram or YouTube, you have to answer a quick, custom-generated quiz on a topic you choose (right now, I’m studying Zero to One by Peter Thiel).
Something interesting happened after about 2–3 weeks of using it.
By adding a small amount of friction to my mornings, I slowly stopped reaching for my phone altogether. My brain just learned: phone = effort. And eventually, it stopped craving it.
I thought this was a pretty cool result, so instead of jumping straight into TikTok marketing, I decided to launch on Product Hunt first to validate the idea.
