Bricolaje is an AI-powered terminal copilot: a desktop app + *bj* CLI that turns natural-language requests into context-aware, runnable commands. Get multiple suggestions, exec or copy instantly, and review/search your command history in a dashboard—then generate explanations for any command. It supports a wide range of AI providers—centered on OpenAI and Anthropic—so you can choose what fits your workflow and environment.

We built Bricolaje because we kept running into the same tiny friction in the terminal every day: you know what you want to do, but you pause to remember the exact command, look up flags, or double-check whether a copied command is safe. Those context switches add up. Our goal became simple: describe your intent in plain language and get back runnable, context-aware command suggestions—then execute or copy immediately. As we iterated, we realized “suggestions” weren’t enough; we also needed a way to learn from past work. That led us to a dashboard where you can review/search command history, re-run commands, and even generate explanations for what a command does. Different teams prefer different models, so we designed it to work with multiple AI providers—centered on OpenAI and Anthropic—so you can pick what fits your workflow and environment. We’d love your honest feedback on what feels great, what feels off, and what you’d want next.
