I’m Chouaieb, and WheelAir was born out of a moment of pure travel frustration. A few months ago, Air France attempted to cancel my travel at the last minute because they claimed my wheelchair wouldn’t fit into a KLM Embraer aircraft. As a power wheelchair user since age six, I knew the specs, but the airline didn't. I spent hours digging through buried info to prove my rights and find the workaround to travel. That "information asymmetry" is a systemic problem. For the millions of us who travel with mobility aids, the rules are often hidden in 50-page legal documents that even airline staff don't always understand. As a Generative AI specialist, I realized I could solve this. I built WheelAir using Google’s Gemini 3 Flash to scrape, extract, and ground data from over 360 airlines. We’ve turned dense legal jargon into a searchable, verified database of battery requirements, dimensions, and international rights (like US DOT Part 382 and EU 1107/2006).
