Annabelle - AI Memory Witness

Annabelle - AI Memory Witness

A witness to who you are. Lives in WhatsApp.

No app, no B.S., no friction. She lives as a conversation in WhatsApp and remembers everything you share: voice notes, photos, thoughts, conversations. But unlike a journal, she talks back. She notices patterns, asks questions you're avoiding, and shows you how you've changed. Your memories are stored as markdown files in Git, she can diff your life and version-control your consciousness. Not therapy. Not productivity. Just someone who actually pays attention. $9/month. 7-day free trial.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built Annabelle because I kept having the same arguments with myself and not realizing it. I'd worry about something, forget I worried about it, then worry about the exact same thing two weeks later like it was brand new. Turns out, my brain has no version control. So I built a memory system that actually does. **What makes this different:** Most "AI memory" products lock your data in a vector database you'll never see. Annabelle stores your memories as **plain markdown files in a Git repository**. That means: - She can `git diff` your past self and see what changed - You can export everything, edit in Obsidian, grep through your life - Your data outlives the product (if we shut down, you keep the files) **Why WhatsApp:** Because I'm never going to open "another app." If it's not where I already live (messaging), I won't use it. So Annabelle lives there. No app install. Just add her like you'd add a friend. **The hard parts I'm still figuring out:** - Is $9/month reasonable or too high for a "journal that talks back"? - Should I hide the Git/markdown stuff behind "magic" or lead with it? - How do I explain "simulated intelligence with a personality" without sounding like sci-fi? **What I'm asking from this community:** - If you try it, tell me what breaks or feels wrong - If you're privacy-focused, tear apart my architecture—help me make it better - If you've built memory systems before, I'd love to compare notes **Inspiration:** This was influenced by: - *The Culture* series (Iain M. Banks) - AI Minds with personality - DiffMem (our open-source memory module: github.com/Growth-Kinetics/DiffMem) - My own ADHD and terrible working memory **Try it:** withanna.io (7 days free, then $9/month) I'm here all day to answer questions. What am I missing? - Alex (and Annabelle, who helped me write this)
