Hello Product Hunt! 👋
Today we’re excited to share Ask AI from Braid Health. Our goal is to make comprehensive diagnostics accessible to everyone so patients and families can understand their health with clarity. Ask AI makes complex medical images easy to explore by putting them in front of the latest AI models so you can collaborate, ask follow-ups, and learn about your health in plain English.
🧬Turn the lens on your body
Your medical images already contain thousands of biomarkers, often more than any blood test. Many of us have MRIs, CTs, and X-rays sitting on a CD or in a portal, rarely revisited. Ask AI lets you see that information clearly, privately, and on your own time.
⚙️ How it works
⬆️ Super-easy uploads: Drag and drop your DICOM files (often from a CD or portal) straight into our site. Large MRI studies import in seconds.
🤖 Collaborative AI analysis: Multiple advanced models (e.g., GPT-5, Grok-4, Gemini 2.5) work together to extract signals and cross-check findings.
🗣️ Plain-English report: Get a clear summary with interactive annotations showing exactly what the AI noticed.
👨⚕️ Radiologist verification: One click connects you with a board-certified radiologist to confirm or explain results.
💡 Why it matters
Scans can hold early clues about health, from subtle changes in tissue to patterns that evolve over time. Ask AI translates complex scans into human language, so you can ask questions, bookmark what matters, and come back whenever you like.
🚀 Tell us what to build next
We’d love your feedback. What workflows, visuals, or explanations would help you or your family feel more confident reading MRI, CT, or X-ray? Drop ideas, edge cases, and wish lists in the comments. 🙏
P.S. Ask AI is for education and exploration, not medical advice. For clinical questions, please consult a qualified clinician.
I also wanted to jump back in to share a few frequently asked questions that we get around Ask AI:
1️⃣ How is my medical data protected?
Your data is protected with military-grade encryption. We use asymmetric encryption for all communications, and your private keys are stored locally on your device. All data is encrypted and de-identified before processing. We never share data with third parties. Our infrastructure is HIPAA, SOC 2, and FDA Part 11 compliant.
2️⃣ What types of scans can Ask AI analyze?
Ask AI supports most diagnostic imaging studies, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound. If you want a formal diagnostic report, you can request a Second Opinion from a board-certified radiologist directly through the platform.
3️⃣ How do I get my DICOM files?
You can request them from your imaging facility or hospital. Most will provide them on a CD, USB drive, or via a patient portal. Simply ask for your “DICOM files” or “raw imaging data.” Once you have them, just drag and drop the files into Ask AI.
4️⃣ What kinds of questions can I ask?
Pretty much anything related to your imaging. Examples include:
“What abnormalities are present?”
“Measure the size of this lesion.”
“Compare this scan to my previous one.”
“What does this finding mean?”
“Are there any concerning features?”
Ask AI can generate explanations, measurements, and comparisons in plain English.
5️⃣ How much does Ask AI cost?
Ask AI is currently free while we’re in early access. We’ll later introduce flexible pricing for individuals and professionals, with plans based on study volume and feature access.
6️⃣ Can I get a radiologist to review the AI analysis?
Yes. You can upgrade to a board-certified radiologist review, which includes a comprehensive written report from a U.S.-based radiologist who reviews both your images and the AI findings. Reports are typically delivered within 3–4 business days.
