This project started from a close personal challenge: managing diet restrictions while shopping abroad. Ingredient labels are small, technical, and often in another language. We wanted a tool that simply unpacks the label — no judgement, no ratings, just clear info.
Here’s what Spottr does today:
📸 Snap a photo of any label
🔍 Highlight ingredients you choose (dairy, gluten, FODMAP, etc.)
ℹ️ Tap for plain-language explanations — what it is, how it’s made, why it’s used
🌍 Translate foreign labels instantly
📦 Summarize a product at a glance (“mostly grains, plant oils, sweeteners”)
