What do you think? …

Don't you think the long introduction and required email is kind of an obstacle for people to actually participate ?makers *it is for me
Chaïb Martinez
@rikschot thank you for your feedback . I will look for a solution about that
Sunny Paris
HI Chaïb the idea is nice but the email verification is a mistake. Just put a cookie saying pixel set, and if someone cheat who cares? This is art, it should be free. No reason to enter a personal info there.

OMG I was kinda interested in taking part in this but what's the deal with the crazy protracted intro. I shut my browser down about 30 seconds in.

Hey Product Hunt 👋, This is a free, open source, participatory art project. There is nothing to sell. Just feel free to participate. I will appreciate any feedbacks. 1000000000.art is a painting, Its size will be 40,000 px wide by 25,000 pixel high. That is a 1 000 000 000 pixels. This painting requires a billion participants/pixels to be completed. For the moment, 4 people have participated . 0.0000004% of the painting is complete. 👉 At this rate, it will be finished in 160 987 443 years Every pixel is added by one person, you for example. When you first signs in and visualizes the artwork, a colored dot corresponding to your IP address is added. It's your pixel. For example : your IP is 78.234.74.82 Your RGB color is rgb(78,234,74) Red : 78 Green : 234 Blue : 74 And your opacity is between 0 (0) and 1 (255). Opacity for 82 => 0.32 Final RGB color with opacity : rgba(78,234,74,0.32). I use a Ulam spiral to add each pixels, the first one the first being in the center.
Tomas
@chaibax but can't you colour pick a pixel and get the ip address of the person who contributed it by getting the rgb values?

I like the idea, but the 'onboarding' is very slow. Its typed letter by letter and I dont know what I need to do. Its still typing in the tab and I would normally already have closed the tab. Also, there are some spelling error's in there. Might wanna fix em ;)

Wouldn't it be possible to skip the signup and just store the IP? It will limit the project a bit, but would greatly decrease the painting time by millions of years :)
