Most people in the U.S. probably haven't heard of this app, even though it's been around since 2008. It just released in the states and starting to go #viral, used by more than 1 BILLION people.

VCs watch out! The hottest trend in consumer apps lies at the intersection of artistic inspiration and wallpaper applications.
In the past few weeks we've seen apps: curating wallpapers, turning glitch art into wallpapers, making you make your own wallpapers, and even win an award for beautiful live wallpapers.
Unsplash, maker of one of the most poplar wallpaper Mac apps, just came out with a new app for mobile wallpapers, and a Facebook Design Manager launched a wallpaper series using just one color (which was upvoted over 700 times).
Companies are even starting to use wallpapers for messaging, while others are building on top of the wallpaper stack in a disruptive way for all other applications.

This morning, Sequoia Capital, the firm that invested in Apple, Google, PayPal, Stripe, and a few other tiny companies, announced their $100 million investment in this under-the-radar video chat app.

Other than the usual suspects of Chrome, Dropbox, Spotify, and your pick of non-Apple made email client, what are the first apps you download when setting up your new Mac?
We tweeted this question and found some great under the radar apps. A few interesting trends also came about...
1) Mac users LOVE menu bar apps! A lot of the responses mentioned Caffeine, Alfred, and f.lux.
2) macOS really needs to come with a built-in windows organizer. Popular apps include: Spectacle, Magnet, and BetterSnap.
3) The ubiquity of Slack means that Slack-like :emoji: commands are now essential, in every app. Rocket does just that.
4) Use a password manager! It should be one of the first apps you download (1Password was mentioned a lot).
5) Download this app last.
