Saif Al Falah reviewedMacbook Air with RetinaThe popular laptop with more power and a beautiful display
 Not RecommendedPros:

Build quality and the hardware software integration

Cons:

Doesn't justify its price

1200$ for a laptop with dual core processor and DDR3 RAM in no way justifies the premium Apple is asking for it. No matter how good the retina display is.

Not agree, it will work for the next 3-4 years with no downsides if you will treat the laptop properly. Speaking of Windows laptops, you're going to spend half of the price each year and going to hassle with all cons of Windows.

@dr_dimitru Don't be so sure. My <2 years old MacBook Air just recently stopped working without as much a scratch. And Apple gave me a repair quote of 400$. So I think I have a right to be skeptical about their longevity.

@saifalfalah then you shouldn't add "Build quality" to pros. I'm happy with MBP 15" 2012 and MBA 13" 2014 so far so good, minor repairs and battery replacements, total maintenance cost around $600 during last 6 years

@dr_dimitru I don't consider longevity being equivalent to build quality. Build quality is when you can lift the lid of your laptop with just the tip of your finger. It's when it doesn't wobble when you type hard. Longevity is a different issue altogether. My laptop is in pristine condition on the outside. On the inside, the battery is dead and the fan is kaput.

@saifalfalah Not agree again, maybe sadly nowadays "Build quality" means only book's cover of the product, I still believe it should correspond to the whole product.
