Getting a life time subscription for Brain.fm is one of the best long term investments I've ever made. I mostly use it for focus and sometimes for sleep. It's great for long focused sessions of work. I usually set it to 2 hours. Even now, I'm on a break from a two hour coding session at work.

Hidden gem. I found it early on and became a "lifer." <- the only app I've ever done that with. Sleep can be set for 6 hours, 8 hours, or infinite. There's also a 15 minute and 30 minute "break" choice in the "relax" feature. Very well thought out and does exactly what you expect it to do. (Note: I have not tried the other apps recommended)

The compositions are completely original, so don't expect to hear songs you know, but they do work like a charm.
The National
Brain.fm delivers a continuous loop of computer-generated music to help you work, relax, read or sleep. But this reviewer found it more of a turn off than a motivator.

I've been using Noisli for only a couple of weeks now but it's total game changer for me. I work in a very noisy office and the app really helps me get back my focus. Also, a great addition is that the ability to mix your own ambient sounds which is pretty cool.

I use this all the time. It's free but you can pay for the Pro version. That allows you to play all their games all the time. The free, recommended 'workout' (personalised) is enough for me - about 15-20 minutes a session.
