The Megacool SDK provides GIF capturing and sharing. Users simply capture and share engaging moments from your gameplay with their friends, including a link back to the game.
The GIF-sharing platform Megacool is officially out of beta. Its API can work in mobile games to capture 10-second clips and share directly to Twitter, Facebook, and SMS text message. Starting today, its integration will be available to iOS, Android, and Unity developers.
Technology start-up Megacool has launched its new GIF sharing API for mobile games developers. The company's tool allows devs to add features that allow a game's users to share gameplay moments through GIFs. Players are able to record a short 10-second clip of a gaming moment and send it to their friends via SMS text message and social channels.
Megacool is a startup born out of the mobile games studio Dirtybit, and it's just raised $1.5 million to scale up its GIF-recording integration technology and hire more engineers. Alliance Venture, an early-stage venture capital firm from Norway, led the round.
Unfortunately there's no way to record your iPhone screen without jailbreaking (afaik); however, Kamcord pivoted from a mobile gaming social network into a broad screenshot-sharing community. It allows you to share a screenshot (or series of screens) with a video overlay so you can describe what the viewers are looking at.
