Hey hunters, we created Lucid because we found there was no real quick and easy way to create and publish well presented design systems. There are some tools out there but they are overcomplicated or restrictive. We've tried to solve this by making it as frictionless as possible.
You can set up a free account where you’ll get 3 design systems (which you can publish so they’re publicly viewable...
Lucid
Create design systems
Lucid makes it easy for designers to create and share design systems.
Describe principles, colors, typefaces, icons, images, writing guidelines, components, do's and dont's and code snippets.
It's easy to use and cost effective so even the smallest teams can have professional design systems so they can develop and ship faster.

I love this - a great resource for anyone that's interested in learning about and implementing the 'design systems' way of thinking. Excellent, meaningful, and truly educational content clearly written and well presented. Well done @aarron and team 👍

A great product with nice simple messaging and a great video, a bit of humour makes it memorable. Interesting to see the 'pay what you want model' in use during the early days - that's some clever thinking right there. That said, it would be great to try it out for free for a few days so I can decide if I want to commit.

Turns out the Google Maps interaction is a great way of looking at places generally and they’ve embraced this. Everyone knows how to use it so there’s no learning curve. Love it.
Pros: A great example of using a platform's capabilities for more than it was initially designed for.
Cons: Could do with a simpler URL maybe? space.google.com?

This is a great example of a ‘feature as a service’ that just gets better over time. With this level of customisation it just makes it even more attractive to integrate Stripe, and now they can go after larger companies who want tighter (looking) integration with their stores.

Case in point about why putting time and thought into design is so important. Something as potentially uninteresting and technical as a drag and drop library made engaging, fun, interesting and educational. Love this.

Personally, I think subtle use of sound is a great way to add some additional 'delight' to products, I 'd like to see more of this type of stuff.
Pros: Really good quality, there are some really subtle sounds in there which is really important as it's easy to overdo it with sounds in UI.
Cons: It could use a stronger categorisation system to help classify sounds to help you find the right on...

It's fair to say that a lot of designers have a dislike (or probably a fear!) of going anywhere near tools like Jira or Confluence - while everyone else in a product team will be using them. But as an organisation it's clear that Atlassian have recognised this, and are making steps in the right direction to create better designed products. Their software is super complex so it will be a...
