AI should not be integrated for AI's sake. With that being said, I believe a lot (if not most) projects profit from AI in one way or another. So it makes sense that there's such a strong focus on it. AI should always complement the ideas of the product and not just be a forced feature to be able to write "AI-powered" on the home page.
