Launched today, shockwave is live on PH. Shockwave is a SaaS platform that aims to reinvent your social media marketing campaigns through gamification and social farming. Its functionality allows brands and content creators to easily and quickly create social campaigns. Firstly, you'll select the tasks you want your community to undertake on your posts, such as liking, commenting, sharing, watching videos until the end, creating customized content with hashtags, across all major social media platforms. Next, you'll choose a reward that best suits your community's interests. Options could include, for example, clothing items for brand owners, meet & greet for influencers, free consultations for entrepreneurs, VIP concert tickets for singers, and more. After that, you'll share the campaign on your social media. People interested in the offered prize will register on Shockwave and complete the specified tasks. Each completed task will earn them points (e.g., a like on TikTok = 2 points, a comment on a YouTube video = 10 points). The campaigns will be of two types: either a raffle, where Shockwave randomly selects winners from those who completed all the tasks, or a ranked competition, where leaderboards are automatically formed, and the top-ranked participants receive the prizes.

@matteo_magliozzi The concept is really cool. This is a great way to engage and reward your audience while building a following. Can you explain how gamification is used to complete tasks? I didn't really get that part. Also, I checked out Shockwave's website. The video was simply astounding. How did you guys create it?
Matteo Magliozzi
@sreenington Thank you Sree! Gamification involves acquiring points through interactions carried out on social media and creating leaderboards to foster a sense of competition among participants. I handled the pre-production with the script and storyboard on Figma, then I received the help of a friend of ours in creating all the animations in After Effects and the soundtrack.

@matteo_magliozzi Congrats on the launch, Matteo! That's an interesting new take on social media management. We're launching next week with fynk: https://www.producthunt.com/prod...

@fscholz Felix, I'm already a supporter! I had written to you before, but you didn't reply. If you'd like to return the support, I'd be happy about it. Good luck with the launch, when will it be?

@matteo_magliozzi Sorry about that, PH nests comments so bad it's sometimes hard to find them. I'm happy to support you! we're about to launch on Tuesday!

Hi Sree! So nice to meet you! We're launching later today for the first time and oh my God, do we have the jitters! Our product, SaferPDF, is an in-browser PDF compression tool and we really want people to get as excited as us about it. Do you have any advice? Have a great day and speak to you soon!

@laetitia_chaumeron Hey Laetitia, I just tested out SaferPDF and I got a quick question. How do you convince your users that the files they upload never leave the device? I tried it out and saferpdf worked flawlessly but I never got the feeling that my files never left my device. It felt the same as I was using another PDF compressor like ilovepdf or smallpdf.

@sreenington Hi Sree, thank you so much for testing the tool out, pretty cool huh? If you go into your developer tools and look at the network tab, you'll see that our tool only ever receives data within your browser and we can never upload files anywhere, as we (SaferPDF) don't have access to them. They are all on your device (within your browser) so only you with your access will be able to access the files. Of course we're open to suggestions on how to communicate this to people more effectively :)

@laetitia_chaumeron that’s lovely to know I can verify that it never leaves my browser. But I would suggest you add a UI element or indicate it through your UI that the files never leave the system. That would improve it a lot

@sreenington Thank you for your feedback, it's duly noted! We'll come up with a clearer and more visual way to explain this great functionality rather than through a simple paragraph or bit of text like we did. Challenge accepted :D
