I've been using Rewind for a while. Coming from someone who bookmarks compulsively, Rewind has been a dream. First, since I don't have to do anything proactively, there's never the "ah shoot, I forgot to bookmark that and now it's lost" moment. In fact, it's the answer to that moment "I'll just search in Rewind and find it" and then bookmark it. But second, since it's capturing everything, not just browsing, I've used it for rewinding meetings, finding command output in days old terminal windows, and finding that one link someone mentioned in Slack, or Discord, or Messages, that I couldn't remember.
It's useful to be able to recall docs, images, video/audio replays and recall a specific part of the videos you watched. Definitely , the most easy to use and useful manifestation of a Second Brain concept.
With latest GPT query, it should make search and recall a lot more natural and interactive to narrow down the contextual results and more benefit having longer history.
The cons:
Storage requirements is huge though and is being looked into. They promised good news soon!
Secondly, it does have an impact on my battery life and cpu usage. So I am careful when I am remote untethered on battery and trying to multitask.
Rewind is one of those products that I can't live without. Well I could, but that would be like going from cars to horse and buggy. Why on earth would you ever decide to do that? As a PM with a lot on my plate, being able to revisit what was said in a conversation, whether that was a few seconds ago or a few days ago, is incredibly helpful. There are myriad other use cases I've found where Rewind has been a huge relief to me, and I'm certain I will continue to find more. Plus the team is fantastic - great at taking and responding to feedback, and you can tell they really care about the product they are building.
I have a traumatic brain injury, so remembering things can be a bit of a pain, finding myself redoing the same things a few times over in slightly different ways. Since I’ve been using Rewind, I’ve been able to put an end to a lot of that, and with it get things done a lot faster, not just with work but also in my personal life. It is hands down the single most important tool I use today, and is an utter joy to have. Rewind is a search engine for ideas, and lets you return to the mindset when you had them, and understand why.
Rewind, as its name aptly suggests, assists me in retracing my digital steps with an intuitive search feature at the forefront.
All it takes is recalling a few keywords to effortlessly locate that fascinating article you stumbled upon or the crucial document your client sent you a fortnight ago.
The cherry on top? This app is continuously evolving and enhancing its capabilities, making it even more valuable over time.
