Masterclass is owned by David Rogier, who founded the company in 2017 while he was a student at Stanford University.
Masterclass includes a 1 week free trial period where full access to all features is given.
Each class features about 20 video lessons, at an average of 10 minutes per lesson. Also, there are class discussion sections below each video where members can share their work and receive feedback. In addition to the lesson videos, each class has a downloadable Instructor Guide that you can use to supplement the videos. Classes can also be viewed whenever the member wishes, as they have access to all materials until their subscriptions expire.
Masterclass has an annual membership of $180, which grants you access to the full library of classes offered by celebrities and experts. Each class has 3-5 hours of premium content, plus workbooks and audio materials. Some say that the classes feel comparable to taking a weekly class at a university.
Plus and Premium membership plans are also available which also allow for offline viewing as well as viewing on multiple devices.
