Microsoft's 'Hey, Copilot!' lets Windows Insiders invoke Copilot Voice hands-free. This opt-in feature uses on-device wake word detection. Rolling out now for English language users in Insider channels.
Hi everyone! (or should I say "Hey Everyone!" today? :P)
Microsoft is starting to roll out "Hey, Copilot!" for Windows Insiders. It's an opt-in feature that lets you use your voice to wake up Copilot on your PC, hands-free, similar to how other voice assistants work. The wake word detection happens on-device for privacy.
It's interesting – Siri can now be woken up just by saying "Siri", dropping the "Hey", I'm not a big voice wake-word user myself, but I know a lot of people find it super convenient. So, being able to say "Hey, Copilot!" to get things done on your PC could be pretty cool. If Copilot can deliver truly personalized help this way, I bet many will get comfortable talking with their computers.
It's currently for English language users in the Insider channels.
