This was a book that had been sitting on my desk to read for a few weeks and then I heard the author died. I don't know why that made me feel guilty but it did. I could have read it while he was alive and I didn't. It felt selfish or something. The book turned out to be excellent and funny and occasionally wise. It was like The Kid Stays In The Picture but with a more relatable (and frankly more likable) author. Part of this, I'm sure, has to do with the fact that Rich Cohen--one of my favorite writers--was the co-author. In any case, it's a fun memoir of Hollywood and hustling.
@ryanholiday This is one of my favourite books about the entertainment industry. The stories are legendary (Elvis & Sinatra in particular) and Jerry had the ultimate hustle. Great recommendation.
