Typewise

I love the app, since I installed it as WRIO years ago on my smartphone. But for some reason it changed this year to a normal keyboard on all our devices and only a deletion of the app and reinstalling fixed the problem and the hexagon keyboard design, emojis and special signs got back.

If this is a Gboard alternative, where's the support for emoji search, GIFs, and web and YouTube search? This is a swipe-keyboard, sure — but it's not a Gboard alternative.

This keyboard started in 2015 on Kickstarter, meaning it had 5 years to mature. It brings a lot of novel ideas and I love the focus on privacy, but the prediction/autocorrect capabilities are still non-existent. And that's English, can't imagine how poor it would be in other languages. What makes keyboard productive is not a couple of nifty features like swipe to delete, but the overall speed of accurate writing. SwiftKey might have way less intuitive controls, but I can make 20x more typos compared to TypeWise and still produce the final text faster and more accurately. That is the only thing that matters. I hope this project keeps improving, but at this point, I can't recommend it. I still vote for it and I sincerely hope it one day becomes better than SwiftKey and Gboard. Premium pricing feels more than fair, I would argue it is even cheap. However, missing a dark theme in default package seems tone-deaf in 2020.

Congratulations! You have managed to make something dangerously innovative. The honeycomb key design is glorious. It is a portal to a next-generation interfaces! The tutorial is the best I have ever seen. Performing missions is super-fun. Surprisingly, the app even has a built-in Typing game - that's awesome! Pros: Innovative Honeycomb design; clean UI; innovative typing UX (hold+swipe, delete, undelete), cool branding, Typo game, Tutorial. Cons: lagging at low-end phones (e.g Samsung J-series), lagging the first-time tutorial, Ux is too heavy for an average (90%) users. No Cyrillic support (Russian, Ukrainian) Great and innovative stuff you do. Keep up going!

I've been using beta versions of this product for more than 6 months now and saw it getting better and better. Very dedicated and responsive developer crew🥰. It does take some initial training but is worth every minute of it!

Great Keyboard, type more precisely and with less typos, much faster! I'm using it since some years (former WRIO) and it's still getting better.
