Lifelong learner on a beautiful mission
Hey there 😀 If you use Product Hunt to discover new tools and services, I believe you self-selected as lifelong learner with a growth mindset 🧠✨ We built Trickle to give you a tool 🛠 to make lifelong learning a daily habit. So that leveraging great content from across the web gets easier and helps you to master any skill or topic. Even better, Trickle will help you to share your knowledge with others, so that we all can get smarter, faster. Let me get more specific on how it works: You start by discovering what other people published. Learn in easily digestible DRIPS💧, short articles that focus on one key insight which you can read in just a few minutes a day. Instead of drowning in a torrent of new information you learn in a steady trickle and get smarter every day. Drip by drip. Each drip contains SOURCES 🔗 that link to great stuff from around the web: videos, articles, podcasts, books, websites, apps — you name it. It's like having your personal tour guide for the Internet. A curated list of great learning material ready for you to explore. In Trickle you can save anything you find to your account with *one click*, so won't forget anymore the good stuff. Pretty soon, you'll find yourself using Trickle to curate your own sources from around the web and adding drips that summarize your insights. This active approach to learning will supercharge your progress in whatever topic interests you. And you can share your knowledge with friends or publish them on Trickle. Because teaching is a crucial part of learning that is often missed. So that’s what we are building for with Trickle. A community of lifelong learners that learn from each other 💫 This is the first time we are sharing Trickle on a big stage like this and we can’t wait for you to check it out 🤗 Achim Cofounder, Trickle.app P.S. We build Trickle in a way that its core can be used for free but we do provide a premium plan to fund our mission. Sign up now to get Trickle Premium for the full month of August ✨

Hey Product Hunt! We're all lifelong learners, but sometimes it's hard to make time for learning in our busy schedules. Trickle makes lifelong learning effortless by breaking knowledge down into easily-digestible microlearning drips 💧 that can be consumed in just a few minutes a day. A steady trickle of drips helps you acquire an impressive amount of knowledge over time. There's already plenty of content to demonstrate the value of Trickle. We cover topics like: - Personal Productivity - Decision Making - Longevity - Learning Strategies - Sleep - Nutrition - Meditation and Mindfulness - and much more... But this is just the beginning. Trickle is a platform for anyone to curate, share, and publish great learning content. We believe that everyone is an expert in something and we want more people to share their knowledge with other lifelong learners. Trickle users don’t have to just passively absorb content, they can create it and share it with others. Start by collecting links to great learning content. Summarize what you’ve learned and — if you think it’s helpful — share it with others or publish it. Trickle is about building a community that values knowledge and learning. It’s also why we’re completely bootstrapped and won’t put ads on the site. Lifelong learners are at the heart of Trickle and we want to keep it that way. Phil Cofounder, Trickle.app

Love you value propositions to simplify the learning process. I am curious as to how you guys select the “experts” that can speak and publish content on specific subjects? Or does the platform rely on users generating their own trickles from content they come across on the web?

Hey David. We encourage all users to create content and curate great sources of knowledge. We believe this kind of active learning (as opposed to just passively reading) makes it more likely that knowledge will not be forgotten. There are different ways of sharing knowledge on Trickle: privately via invitation, link-sharing, and publishing. Any user can publish content on Trickle, but only the highest-quality content gets featured on the Discover page, where other users are most likely to find them. During our product beta we worked with selected authors/experts who we trust to create high-quality content, but we are now opening publishing to all users. We have already implemented several content quality-control processes and have more in development.

This looks like a super handy tool to compile useful info I come across throughout my workday. My question: When I sign up for specific “knowledge trickles”, who and how do you curate the content that I receive?

Hi Erica (@ericahal), glad you think Trickle might come in handy! Trickle was designed as a platform for lifelong learners to share knowledge, so the specific "knowledge trickles" (we call them streams) are published by a lifelong learner with expertise in the topic. Our major focus at the moment is to ensure that published content is of the highest quality. One of those measures already in place is selecting only the best content to get featured on the Discover page.
