Slightly biased, since I'm in the second issue (on security and privacy), but: this is a pretty nice change of pace as far as technical writing goes. The explicit goal is to be appealing and understandable to non-technical people, rather than aiming at experienced techies. Many of the articles are relatively short and narrow, and it's light on specific technical jargon. Techies might find it more amusing than informative, but for people who need a quick overview or students who could use the lighthearted tone it can be a good primer.
