My first impression is negative: it feels like there is now less information on the screen at a time and it is harder to read recipes/applets due to the increased line breaks. It looks like usability was sacrificed for a pretty interface. I find the menu UI pattern confusing, the current page looks deactivated. I can't figure out how to turn on new services/discover available services. I can't figure out how to create a new applet. I love IFTTT but this feels like a major step back.

@theleovogel I feel the same way in a lot of ways. @ltibbets, where would be the best place to give some detailed feedback on the UX?

@ltibbets I can and will totally do that! Big project due the next 2-3 days, so it might not be until the weekend. Do I need to put anything special in the subject line to avoid the spam folder? @theleovogel @leovogel I can share with you as well, but after I share it with Linden. I hate being that complainer that doesn't give feedback to the source first!

@xtoq thank you, looking forward to it. Shouldn't need a special subject, let me know if you don't hear back in a few days after you send :)

It's likely never been a better time for a service like IFTTT as tech is increasingly connected, from fridges to cars. What emerging platform are you most excited about, @ltibbets? I'm particularly interested in how audio interfaces with people and things, through Airpods, Alexa, Google Home, etc.

@rrhoover Thanks! Alexa, Google Home and Airpods (which i think are distinctly under hyped) are big new platforms at the very beginning of their lifecycles. Whats going to be fun is that LOTS of products are going to be using voice and the big question is are they all just going to be one platform or can multiple or perhaps even many voice platforms be supported at once. Would love to see a future where you weren't stuck with just one platform, but could unlock all of the data/capabilities attached to every service you use with ANY platform, voice or not. Also, two products I can't wait to try out right now: Loop https://www.producthunt.com/post... and 01 https://www.indiegogo.com/projec...

Id love to see these recipes be available to work with Facebook Messenger... so I could have my personal bot assistant message me things based on recipes. I think that would be super useful!

@bentossell thanks Ben! FB Messenger and bots would be an awesome way to use IFTTT Applets. Hopefully will have good news about this in the future!

Awesome work. I use IFTTT for different workflows. It is a really powerful platform and saves me a lot of time! Crazy to see all the new Applets! Would like to know how do you handle security issues?

@toomaime thank you and awesome to hear you are saving good time with IFTTT. We of course take security very seriously: encrypting important information in transit and at rest, we also work hard on the people side with the right processes and policies.

Looking great. I'm enjoying the new design, seems much quicker to create "an applet". Your servers must be taking a beating though because it's slowing down for me now and some pages aren't loading. My favourite new addition is the Google Assistant channel. :D @ltibbets do you know if improvements are being made to the channels as well? One channel in particular has never been reliable for me which is the Tado channel. Recipes fail to trigger most of the time. I did contact you about it but I never heard a reply (but I get you are busy).

@sevenupcan Great to hear it! we are working the slowness now :) Channels are going to get lots of updates over the next few months. I would suggest you let Tado know about the issues directly and we can work with them to fix!

@ltibbets thanks, I'll get in touch with them. Some feedback regarding the way you manage your applets. The way it's currently displayed by channel makes it really hard for me to manage my applets. I much preferred it when I could just see all my recipes all in one place. Also it would be handy to be able to create an applet from a specific service when I'm on that service's home page instead of having to go "New Applet" and then look for the service again. Thanks for listening.

@ltibbets Unless I'm missing something, I can only go one direction (trigger IFTTT recipes from Workflow). What I want is for a Workflow I make to be the "That", not the "This".

I love IFTTT... especially with the recipes that work with Siri which I now use with my apple watch, iPhone 7 and even my macbook pro thanks to Siri integration with the new MacOS. It's incredible what we can do now without any programming.

@paisano rad! Thank you. You should definitely checkout Alexa Google Assistant services on IFTTT as well.

@ltibbets Thanks will do. I had a question. While trying to enable Trello service and Siri for Trello I get the screen with the OK button to authorize and when I click it the screen goes away without any errors but whenever I check it again it asks to enable and authorize again as if I never did it before. It also does not show up under applets or anywhere else. I just want to setup siri with trello now... and slack too. What can I do?
Linden Tibbets
@ltibbets · Works at IFTTT
@paisano You'll have to send me either a link or a screenshot! I would suggest getting in touch with support@ifttt.com and we can give you a hand! just about any integration with Siri is a bit of a work around right now.

OK, so recipes are now applets, and channels are now services. Looks good, makes sense. Only thing is, why can't I make a new applet with multiple actions from a trigger? Seems like it's possible here: https://ifttt.com/applets/L6LwpR... This functionality isn't in the make an applet yet? I had hoped that on the final step I'd get an option to finish or add another action. Also, I'm confused by the "Want to build richer applets" CTA, I thought for sure that would be to unlock the new functionality, but from what I can tell it's just a developer zone? Either way, seems like you guys know that people want multiple triggers/actions. Looking forward to making my own recipes... errr applets with the new functionality.

@ryanmarr thanks Ryan! We've got multiple actions and more on our partner platform and we are working to open it up more broadly to individuals. We've started with our partner services first, but we know that individuals are hungry for more powerful Applets as well!
