One of my favorites, @kunalslab! Would also recommend "The Writer's Journey" by Christopher Vogler to readers of this book... it picks up where Campbell leaves off and does a masterful job of breaking down the structure of myth and how it relates to all manners of storytelling.

This is a fantastic read. Also, make sure to check out the PBS special called The Power of Myth where Bill Moyers interviews Joseph Campbell.

This was assigned reading in a high school and college class I took. It's by far one of my favorite pieces that analyzes the commonality across cultures, time periods, and mythologies. Campbell argues that there is an archetypal hero in each of these stories that goes through a similar journey (a departure or call to adventure, an initiation, and return).
