About

Switchboard is your instant voice network. It gives you a hands-free intercom between close friends and colleagues to let you chat more spontaneously, as though you're in the same room. You control your availability so that you're easy to reach when you want and you can focus when you need.

Working remotely sometimes means I go days without talking to anyone! I miss the pleasantries around the office, like "how was your weekend", and being able to just walk over to my colleague's desk to discuss something quickly. These critical parts that make up workplace culture are things that email and chat don't fully address. Those were the dark days before there was Switchboard!!

Pros:

Voices come through crystal clear + instant connectivity! Really friendly helpdesk person who answers any questions you might have :)

Cons:

It would be even more useful if I could get more friends and colleagues on this!

This app is perfect for driving. The voice activated commands make it like you're just talking to people who are in the car with you. No more scrolling through messages from behind the wheel.

Pros:

Great way to keep up with the kids

Cons:

Great way for the wife to keep up with me

Love this app! Gives me telecom capabilities of WebEx with the instant messaging of Lync -- all without the hassle of managing a gazillion groups

Pros:

Easy to use

Cons:

Still waiting for android...

Love this thing! Use it all day to communicate with coworkers in remote offices, and also on walks with my wife - we can both listen to music and talk to each other seamlessly and without taking our damn earbuds out.

Pros:

Excellent voice quality, intuitive functionality, much better operation than skype or hangouts.

Cons:

Not really a con, but the product still has a few bugs (early in development)

Haha, as one of our earliest adopters, thanks! And for alluding to the music stuff -- which we will have a separate announcement about soon.

Been using the app for a few weeks now and I'm loving how easy it is to connect for real-time chats whenever and wherever I am throughout the day.

Pros:

Great for chatting on the go!

Cons:

Occasional audio bugs - mostly worked out

Huge fan of this app. It makes my life at work much easier. Going to be an essential part of the future work-place (especially for teams that work from home or from various locations). This team is going to do BIG things!! Well done.

Pros:

Instant connectivity. High voice quality. Great UI/UX.

Cons:

Early development (few bugs, not many and to be expected)

I've used it for personal & professional. The results were always the same: Clear as a bell & easy to use. Great grandma could use it. I have a Cisco IP phone at home, and it sounds as clear as that device (it's easier & much faster to use though)

Pros:

clarity of voice, super easy to use, intelligently deciphers how it's intended to be used without pre-configuration by the user

Cons:

doesn't come with a free walkie-talkie (j/k didn't find any)

Great tool for communicating with dev team as our company's developers and other team members are spread out throughout Canada, US and Germany.

Pros:

Great audio communication tool!

Cons:

It's not all over the place yet.

Alex T endorses this fully!

Pros:

Seamless communication. Much better than having a landline or phone equipment. I can easily speak to coworkers with my iPhone

Cons:

Need to get more of my entrepreneurial friends on this, as well as my employees that I work with day-to-day

Just tried the mac app, and it seems like exactly what we have been looking for. With a small team spread across multiple floors, the ability to quickly hit someone up is important. Can't wait for Android and/or Windows versions, so everybody can be onboard.

Pros:

Simple and effective. Let's you quickly talk to anyone on the team. Minimal interface. Pretty clear and quick, from what I could tell.

Cons:

Inviting others feels a bit clumsy. The mac app is not stable; crashed once and now doesn't work at all.

I think it has potential to change the communication paradigm to enable us to talk to each other as if we are in the same room anytime

Pros:

New way to communicate

Cons:

Takes getting used to

This intergeated in an app like Slack would be sweet. But stand alone it works well

Pros:

Fun to use and voice/sound is surprisingly good. Beats having to message if I want to talk in real time.

Cons:

Slight learning curve when using first couple times. But thats normal I guess

We have use switchboard for a month to see if it could be implemented on logistics, so far so good. Would recommend .

Pros:

Loud and clear, hands off the phone, good for teams

Cons:

Getting the whole team onboard ! Android implementation not there yet, far better on iOS

It's good but sometime is not working very well
