Google+ 2.0? From what I've read, Spaces is more focused on small communities focused on specific topics (e.g. comics), similar to many Facebook Groups. @lukew shares more about the upcoming launch on the Google blog, rolling out today.

@rrhoover @lukew this could be what google wave should have been ^_^

@rrhoover @lukew Google+ 3.0 or 4.0? (given the number of attempts to re-invigorate it or create a social app!) :)
Luke Wroblewski@lukew · Product Director, Google
@rrhoover Spaces is for small group, almost "ad-hoc" sharing: buying a car, planning a trip, sharing music recommendations, etc. These kinds of Spaces can be spun up instantly (just one tap) and can fade away when un-needed. Spaces isn't a social app/media/network. It is a utility/tool and the feature set reflects that.

@rrhoover If you're interested in the feature set I referenced here's an ongoing set of posts about it (easier to follow than my tweets): https://plus.google.com/u/0/coll...

@grahammcbain They sure were. I really dug Google Wave.

@lukew @rrhoover If it is for something ad hoc, why won't people simply use email or group messaging? It takes a lot of social capital to convince your friends to plan using a different platform.
